Why Licensing Matters
What Is an EDMT License?
An Elevating Devices Mechanic Technician (EDMT) license is the mandatory provincial credential required to legally operate, install, maintain, or inspect construction hoists and material lifts in Ontario — issued and regulated by the TSSA.
Getting workers EDMT-trained is expensive and time-consuming. For many GCs, it simply isn't practical — especially when you just need an extra qualified hand for short-term work. That's exactly what we provide.
We supply workers and foremen with signed passbooks and varying levels of EDMT training, so you get the right person for the scope of work — without the overhead of hiring full-time. For complex mechanical work, we also have two EDM-B licensed mechanics on staff.
